03 · TONAL BALANCE

Spectral Analyzer

Compare tonal balance across seven frequency zones. Curves are level-normalized so mastering gain does not make the spectrum look artificially “bigger”.

Sub20–60 Hz
Bass60–150 Hz
Low Mid150–400 Hz
Mid400 Hz–2 kHz
Presence2–5 kHz
High5–10 kHz
Air10–18 kHz
Original = pale filled spectrum · Mastered = strong dashed overlay · Shape comparison is level-normalized.
  • Load and analyze a track to view tonal balance.
04 · DYNAMICS

Dynamics Intelligence

These are Aurael guidance indicators, not universal industry standards. Before/after dynamics are compared at matched loudness so a louder master does not automatically score as denser.

Punch Estimates how clearly transient attacks stand out from the surrounding energy. A higher value is not automatically better; very high punch can sound aggressive, while very low punch can feel flat.
—
Aurael working zone: 55–85%
Mastered: —
Transient density Estimates how often meaningful short attacks occur through the track. Sparse material and dense drum-driven music naturally land in different places, so Aurael uses a broad working zone.
—
Aurael working zone: 35–75%
Mastered: —
Harshness risk Estimates whether upper-mid and high-frequency energy may become tiring or aggressive. Lower usually means less risk, but an extremely low reading can also describe a dark mix.
—
Comfort zone: 0–45%
Mastered: —
Low-end punch Combines bass-region energy and low-frequency attack behavior. It is intended to flag a soft or overly aggressive low end rather than reward the highest possible number.
—
Aurael working zone: 45–80%
Mastered: —
Width decision This is a processing decision, not a quality score. “Hold” means Aurael considers the measured stereo correlation stable enough that no width correction is needed.
—
Waiting for stereo analysis.
Goal: stable stereo image without unnecessary widening.
Mastered: —
Saturation Shows the subtle harmonic saturation Aurael has selected for the mastering chain. This is an amount of processing, not a “better/worse” score.
—
Typical subtle range: 0–5%
Applied to master: —

6. A/B compare

A/B uses loudness matching so the louder version does not automatically sound “better”. The download remains the full-level master.

Dynamics changes are shown as relative percentages versus the original track.

Beta v3.0 note: integrated loudness uses a fast K-weighted gated approximation, true peak uses selective 4× interpolation, A/B is loudness-matched, and adaptive EQ is driven by measured spectral balance. Spectrum shape and before/after dynamics comparisons are level-normalized, while compression, saturation and stereo width are adapted from punch, transient-density, harshness and stereo analysis. Final commercial release still requires calibration against reference meters.
